DERVISH - IN CONCERT
From Ireland - for one night only!
“Their integrity makes the group a formidable heir to the throne abandoned
by The Bothy Band, if not a serious contender for The Chieftains’ international space.”
-- The Irish Times
"One of the world’s most renowned and imaginative interpreters of Irish folk music"
– Folk Radio UK
Described by the BBC as “an icon of Irish music”, Dervish includes six of Ireland’s finest traditional musicians, fronted by one of the country’s best-known singers, Cathy Jordan.
Recipients of a Lifetime Achievement Award at BBC Folk Awards, this Sligo-based band marries technical brilliance with a rare sensibility. They are renowned for their live performances, which match dazzling sets of tunes with stunning interpretations of traditional songs.
The group includes: Cathy Jordan (voice, bodhran), Tom Morrow (fiddle), Shane Mitchell (accordion), Liam Kelly (flute/whistle), Brian McDonagh (mandola/mandolin) and Michael Holmes (bouzouki).

Message from the organizers
Due to an ever-evolving COVID-19 situation and our commitment to the safety of festival attendees and the artists, it is with a heavy heart that we must postpone the celebration of our 10th anniversary of the Festival in the Eastern Townships (and our 21st anniversary in all!)
This decision was not taken lightly.
• We still do not have all the details as to the sanitary measures and travel restrictions. Planning of our event takes almost a year; we simply cannot put on a quality festival in the time we have left this year.
• Also, our concert halls are already small; if capacities are reduced, we will be unable to break even.
That said, we are already planning to celebrate in style in the Fall of 2023.
Save the dates: September 30 to October 8, 2023!
We can’t wait!
Meanwhile . . .
As soon as it is safe, we will organize off-season concerts to keep the Celtic spirit alive and to help our struggling artists!
